VAA officially brought into being
VAA officially brought into being
The
Vietnam
Archeology Association (VAA) was officially founded on August 8 in a ceremony at the Vietnam History Museum.
Members of the association are archeologists, historians, museologists, collectors and those who have knowledge of or are keen on
Vietnamese
archeology.
Present at the founding ceremony was also former State President Tran Duc Luong.
Right after the ceremony, the association held the first congress to pass the association’s regulations and missions.
The highest end of the association is to gather all people involved with archeology and people interested in it in order to boost archeological scientific researches and spread knowledge and information in the public, contributing to the improvement of people’s spiritual life.
The association’s Standing Committee of 19 people was elected at the congress. Associate Professor Hoang Xuan Chinh was the President and former President Tran Duc Luong was adopted by the congress as the association’s Honourable President.
