Italian cultural fest in HCM City

Italian culture, arts and cuisines will be introduced in Hcm city from June 12 to July 9 under the Italian Cultural Festival.
The festival will open with a fashion photo exhibition of famous photographer Max Salvaggio.

 

With the theme “Italian fashion”, the exhibition will showcase around 20 photos capturing unique fashion products. Many of them have been used on covers of world-renowned fashion magazines.

 

The event will open at 7pm, June 12 at Y Ngoc-Sy Hoang Gallery, 135 Nam Ky Khoi Nghia, District 1 and will last till June 24.

 

The following event will be an Italian film week entitled “A Glance over Italian Contemporary Movies”, with three films, “The Opposite Window”, “Caterian Comes to Town” and “Agata and the Storm”. These films have won many awards and praised as typical cultural products of Italy.

 

These movies will be screened for free at 7pm on June 13, 16, 18, 20, 23, and 25 at Idecaf Centre, 31 Thai Van Lung, District 1.

 

At 5pm on June 21, the Italian Food Festival will be held at Park Hyatt Hotel, offering traditional Italian cuisine.

 

All Metro Cash & Carry supermarkets in Vietnam have a special programme to advertise and offer free trials of Italian products.

Vietnamese artists won praise for their work at the 8th international women’s artist’s exhibition, in Beijing, recently.
The Hue city’s People’s Committee held a ceremony on June 3 to announce the Prime Minister’s decision to approve a project to turn Hue city into a festival city.
Hcm City-based joint-stock company Vietbooks and its partner Viet nam News Agency’s Publishing House published a collection of various Guinness world records made by Vietnamese.
A display featuring antiques from the Nguyen Dynasty and a photo exhibition of historical sites and landscapes in Hue, Ha noi and Sai Gon (the former name of Ho chi minh City) is being held in Hue city from 30 May to 12 June 2008.
